Building runs in the blood and the Senior family have a vast background in most aspects of construction with boat builders and house builders going back several decades.

After leaving school in 1986 Boyd Senior became an apprentice to his father, James, and they constructed many new houses in and around the North Shore.

“We were a two-man team and carried out every aspect of the construction; from the foundations to the finishing, we did it all”.

Being a family business quality and accuracy were a given and I was taught every facet of construction during my 4-year, conventional apprenticeship.

We carried on building together until I departed for the US where i became Second Mate on a super yacht for 3 years.

During these travels I met my now wife, Lucy and we established a life in New York city for over 6 years.

I became a Project Manager for Capital Improvement Services and managed all manner of large-scale commercial projects, predominately in the high-end fashion sector.

Having completed projects for Ralph Lauren, Donna Karen, Reiss, Porsche and many others we finally moved back to NZ in 2005 with 2 kids in tow.

Senior Construction Ltd was established in 2007; with the immense amount of experience gathered in New York and the ingrained knowledge from working in NZ we quickly established a reputation for accurate, precise construction; well managed with an eye for quality and timeframes.

We work with the finest Architects and Engineers to easily and economically carry out all aspects of residential construction.

With a dedicated group of long-term employees numbering in the high teens we are a trusted partner to help you realise your construction dreams; supported by 4 site managers, an overall Project Manager and our office based team our aim is to produce the epitome of residential construction, regardless of the size.
